Set off for Cape Jervis to catch the mid-day ferry across to Kangaroo Island. It is a 2 hour trip. It is amazing how many vehicles they get into the boat. It was rather a rough crossing, tossing sideways rather than backwards and forwards.
Set up camp at Stokes Bay and stayed for 3 nights. There was a koala in the trees while we were there. Next day we explored the coast going to Snelling Beach, Western River Cove the Eucalyptus Distillery, a sheep dairy farm where we bought some sheep cheese and also a honey farm. Our second day was spent fishing off the jetty at Kingscote (not much luck) and we had a look at Emu Bay. We had a wallaby turn up in camp and had kangaroos in the next paddock.
